This ESABV22S is an straight Automatic Bypass Valve with a 22mm compression fitting, a wide differential pressure range, from 0.05 to 0.5 bar, and a high capacity flow of up to 50 litres per minute. The ESABV22S also has 16 bar maximum pressure and an intermittent temperature of 120ºC. It is designed to maintain the water flow in central heating systems fitted with TRVs. They do this by maintaining the desired minimum flow rate through the boiler and limit circulation pressure when water paths may be closed. Automatic Bypass Valves reduce system noise that may be caused from TRVs or zone valves closing, eliminate pump impeller wear that can result from high flow resistance, enhance the life of the boiler heat exchanger by ensuring minimum flow rate at all rimes, and save energy by only allowing flow through the bypass when needed. The use of an Automatic Bypass Valve is recommended by the UK Government (DEFRA) as Best Practice in the CHeSS guide to central heating systems.
