The Toyota Hiace is a Japanese light commercial and utility vehicle produced by Toyota Motor Corporation, which was first presented to the public in 1967. Its production started the same year and is still going on, which means that the model has been in production for over 50 years! Its production took place, among others, in Motomachi in Japan. The Hiace model was developed and put into production in order to expand the commercial offer of the Toyota concern, as well as a successor to the Toyoace model. During the long series production, the car was offered in several body versions, including: pick-up, minivan, minibus or ambulance. The drive was also provided by various engines with a capacity of 1.3 to even 3.0 litres. The most universal generation seems to be the latest (designation: H200), which was presented in 2004 and is produced or assembled, among others, in the PRC, Japan or the Philippines. One of the Toyota Hiace’s main competitors is the Nissan Homy.
